What this site is

Lap & Lake is an independent publisher of gear research and buying guidance for families. It is not a retailer. We do not sell anything, hold stock, take payment, ship orders or handle returns. When you click a buy link you leave this site and transact with the retailer, under the retailer's own terms.

Our recommendations are editorial opinions based on published specifications, aggregated public buyer feedback and availability checks. We do not physically test the products we write about, and we say so plainly at how we pick.

Accuracy, and its limits

• •We take accuracy seriously and cite named authorities for safety and health claims, but we cannot guarantee that everything here is complete or current at the moment you read it.
• •Product specifications, availability and prices are set by retailers and manufacturers and change without notice. Always check the product page before buying, and check the actual label on any safety-certified item such as a life jacket.
• •Safety guidance from the CDC, the US Coast Guard and others can change. Where we cite a source we link it so you can read the current version yourself.
• •This site displays no prices, precisely because we cannot keep a price accurate. Every buy link goes to the retailer's own page.
• •If you find an error, tell us — our correction commitments are at editorial policy.
