Privacy Policy
What this site collects, what it does not, and who else is involved when you click a link.

This policy explains how Lap & Lake, published by Janet Media Group, handles information when you visit this site. Questions can go to janet.hoyo@yahoo.com.
What we collect
We do not ask you to create an account, and there is nothing to log in to. The only information you actively give us is what you type into the contact form. Beyond that, we collect standard analytics about how the site is used.

What we do not collect
- We do not sell your data. Not to anyone, for any purpose.
- We do not run a mailing list from this site, so nothing you do here subscribes you to anything.
- We do not collect payment information. No transaction happens on this site — purchases happen on the retailer's own site.
- We do not ask for or store an address or date of birth.
- We do not run advertising trackers beyond the analytics and affiliate attribution described above.
The contact form
When you submit the contact form, the contents are emailed to us at janet.hoyo@yahoo.com and we reply from there. The form also carries three anti-spam measures: a hidden field that only automated scripts fill in, a check on how long the page was open before submission, and a limit on how many messages one network address can send in an hour. None of those collect information about you.
We use your email address to reply to you and for nothing else. We do not add it to any list.
Cookies
This site itself sets no cookies for its own functionality — there is no login, no cart and no personalization to remember. Cookies that may be set while you browse come from two other sources:
- Google Analytics, which sets cookies to distinguish one visit from another. These are Google's cookies and are governed by Google's privacy policy.
- Affiliate retailers. When you click a buy link, the retailer typically sets a cookie in your browser so a later purchase can be attributed to us. That cookie belongs to the retailer, is set on their site, and is governed by their privacy policy — not this one. How our links work is explained at affiliate disclosure.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Doing so will not stop this site working, because nothing here depends on them.
Third parties involved
- Our hosting provider, which serves the pages and keeps standard server logs.
- Google Analytics, for the usage statistics described above.
- Microsoft, whose email service delivers contact form messages to us.
- Amazon, as the retailer our product links point to.
Each of those operates under its own privacy policy. We have chosen the smallest set of services the site needs to function.
Children
This site is written for parents, not for children, and it is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information through our contact form, email us and we will delete it.
Your choices
- Analytics: you can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on, or block the script with any standard content blocker. The site works identically either way.
- Affiliate cookies: block third-party cookies in your browser. Our recommendations do not change based on whether you accept them.
- Your contact form message: email us and we will delete the message and our reply from our mailbox.
- Access or deletion requests: email us. Because we hold so little, these are usually simple to action.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version appears on this page with a new last-updated date at the top. We do not change the date without a substantive change.
